Trail Grooming Report #2 – January 22, 2015

On Tuesday we groomed:

  • the 109 towards Medway
  • the “downtown” trail
  • the 109 north to the 109/111 crossover trail and the crossover itself

Wednesday we groomed:

  • the entire 109 up to ITS 86
  • the P.P. x-over
  • the B Pond trail
  • the new G G trail (Gauntlet/Greenwood Mtn.)
  • the 111 and Wildwoods trail

The Parkway trail is being done today (Thursday).

All trails are in good to excellent condition.

There are still a few remnants of the damage done by those who rode on Monday (See 1st picture for what some hot shot riders think is a good holeshot start – they destroy a trail surface by leaving a big rut for the rest of us). In some places they left ruts up to 10 inches deep — do you have any idea as to how difficult it is to fix a 10 inch rut when dealing with frozen material all around it?

We were able to fix most of the damage but there are probably a few places where a ski could still get caught so PLEASE exercise caution when riding this weekend!
